December Recap

On the Saturday before Christmas, we went with the Kristin and her family along with her in-laws to Natchitoches to see the fireworks and lights. We had a good time although Ethan did not enjoy the fireworks b/c they scared him. He did like looking at all the lights though!

Ethan was not liking Santa this year-ha! Brad said I was horrible for making him sit on Santa's lap. I knew he probably wouldn't like it, but I had to see =)

November Happenings

Noah dressed as "The Cat in the Hat" one day for school for book character day. He really likes to read the books. His Aunt Marianne helped put the outfit together by getting the hat which was so sweet of her to do. Noah really enjoyed dressing up!

Noah's K class participated in a "Pow Wow" one day before the Thanksgiving holidays, and the parents were invited to attend. Each Pre K and K class had an activity for the kids to do. The children rotated by classes through the various classrooms. Here is Noah decorating the outside of his rain stick.

My two sweet boys all dressed up for church one Sunday!

Halloween 2010

This year Noah dressed as "Buzz Lightyear" and Ethan was "Woody" from the movie Toy Story. Noah really likes the movie and, of course, Ethan could care less what he dressed as =) This was on Saturday, the day before Halloween. We took the boys to Nanny's and then to Ms. Jamie's before going to meet the Mays and Johnsons @ a fall festival at Camp Cook. I forgot my camera at Nanny's so I didn't get any pictures at the festival. The boys had a really good time. Noah even climbed about 1/3 way up a rock wall. There were games and a hay ride. Nice substitute for trick or treating =) Hope to do it again next year!

Field Trip to Pumpkin Patch

Pics from Noah's first Kindergarten field trip in October which was to the pumpkin patch. He had a great time. He got to participate in the story time by going onstage, run through a hay maze, go on a hayride, and pick a pumpkin. Fun times!

Noah really enjoys running...like LOVES it. He always wants to "race" somebody. And another bonus to running is stirring up dust, which I'm convinced he enjoys just as much. Saturday afternoon was his first race in the local junior runners' league and he was beyond thrilled. He started asking me that morning when we were going to go to his race =) He was excited to say the least.

Daddy and his boys

The five year olds run 1/2 mile. It was so fun to see Noah participate in something I enjoy as well! He is a bit more competitive than I am for sure though!

Noah turns 5

Noah's birthday party was on September 25th @ our house. The theme was dinosaurs, his obsession for the past 6-8 months. He LOVES to watch Dinosaur train and knows all kinds of facts of dinosaurs. We rented a water slide and had cake and homemade ice cream! He had lots of fun with all his friends. I think I counted 27 kiddos including babies.

Noah licking the icing off dinosaur figures and opening presents

Noah's Nana and Papaw bought him the neatest gift...a building set! Noah and Brad had fun later that afternoon building a deer stand, of course ;)

Can't believe my lil' man is already five years old!

Few things about him:
  • Really into dinosaurs, construction vehicles, and still LOVES trucks
  • Still a picky eater....will not eat any fruits and limited veggies...loves carbs
  • Enjoys being outdoors...ok would live outside if I'd let him!
  • Still enjoys being read to and is know starting to read some words. Doing well in Kindergarten...got "student of the week" the last week of September.
  • Loves his little brother and wanting "two more babies". He has already chosen a boy name...Franklin-ha!

Noah....You are growing into such a kind and considerate young boy! Mommy is so very proud of you! You have grown so much physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually this past year. You are starting to ask me some really, really tough questions about God, heaven and hell, and death. I know God is working on your heart and in your life little man and I'm so thankful. May he continue to awe you and make you ask questions. I hope you always know HE is the one who holds the true answers to life. I love you soooo much!

Noah's First Day of Kindergarten

Noah's first day of Kindergarten was August 25th. He was so excited and was anxious to get to school. I, on the other hand, was trying to be excited for him but was so sad about my first kiddo starting school. Here he is just before getting in the car for his first ride to school.

Setting his backpack and nap mat out in the hall
My sweet little man....where has the time gone?
Noah being silly for me. I think he knew I need to laugh before leaving him. I actually cried in front of him and he acted like he didn't see me =) His first day was great....he said he wanted to go back so that is a good start!
